Ciao! Privet! Ni hao! Bonjour! Salaam!

My name is Cait and I am a travel loving Brit, currently living in the Middle East. I have always loved to travel, and over the years friends have often asked for recommendations and help with planning trips. I created Faraway Dispatches to share guides, tips and ideas with a wider audience.

My travel style is adventure meets luxury. I love finding unique places to stay that offer beautiful design and amazing views at prices that won’t break the bank. But I am also a passionate believer that travel and exploration does not need to come at the expense of the planet or the communities we visit. I believe that sustainable travel is not only possible, but absolutely essential if we are to safeguard the wonders of the world for future generations.

So what will you find here?

The guides are based on my own travels and are intended to inspire you to plan your own trip. The Check In series showcases some of my favourite hotels, whilst Local’s Guides cover places that I have lived, so are more in depth. I hope to share hidden gems here, that you might not find on your first visit as a tourist. They are also accompanied by a Foodie’s Guide sharing all of my favourite places to eat and drink. My bucket list shares some of the places and experiences I am most keen to visit.

Over the years I have lived in some amazing places and therefore I am excited to also share some insights into an expat life with you. I believe the more we know about the world’s amazing places and people, the more we will all want to protect and treasure them. 

I am currently living in Oman with my husband. A beautiful country of beaches, mountains and desert on the south eastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. Oman is breathtakingly beautiful, and I hope to show you a bit of why I love Arabia so much. I have previously lived in Australia, Russia, France and various places in the UK, most recently London. And, although I have never lived there, I have also been lucky enough to spend extensive time in China over the last decade.
